My name is Joe Nicks and I am the principal at Lamesa High School. This is my sixth year in Lamesa and my third to serve as principal. I was the assistant principal three years ago and the high school band director for two years before that. Prior to moving to Lamesa, I taught at Connally High School in Pflugerville and Anson High School near Abilene. This is my seventeenth year in education. I earned my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Abilene Christian University and my Masters in Educational Administration from Lubbock Christian University. I have a lovely wife, Jamie and three wonderful children; Emily, Riley, and Avery.
I believe that in this day and age a quality education is an essential component of a productive life. An education, however, cannot be obtained by merely reading books. It is, rather, a compilation of experiences that form the basis for future success. A complete education involves the maturation of the mind, body, and spirit. At Lamesa High School, we are committed to providing a quality education for all students.
